by lianatorske820 on February 9, 2011
The problem of acid reflux can be avoided up to certain extent by maintaining a good diet. The acid reflux diet for children and adults may be the same but with small difference. Acid reflux diet includes not only eating good foods but also avoiding the foods that causes acid reflux in the body. If your child is showing the symptoms of acid reflux after eating certain foods, try to avoid those foods completely from your child’s diet.
Some of the children may have the problem due to dairy milk or dairy products. In such case, you can replace the dairy milk with soy milk. Foods like steamed vegetables, oatmeal, bananas, etc can be of good use for your child with acid reflux problem.
It would better work to have small meals for five to six times a day instead of having three large meals. The stomach can digest the small meals easily when compared to large meals. Foods like chocolates, fried rice etc should also be avoided in your child’s diet except for once in a while. So, a good acid reflux diet should be maintained and if done regularly, you can save your child from the problem completely.
Acid reflux-Has become very common today
by lianatorske820 on January 28, 2011
The number of acid reflux cases has really increased today, may be because of the present life style and food habits. Many of us in fact do not know what exactly is acid reflux and therefore often neglect even though we are suffering from it. Acid reflux can be understood simply as the damage of the mucosa layer of the oesophagus which is caused because of the back flow the acid from the stomach.
The first noticeable symptom of acid reflux is a burning sensation of the heart .This is an indication that there is an increase in the acid levels in the stomach and because there is a back flow of this acid into the oesophagus there is a burning sensation. Moreover the oesophagus is just behind the heat which is why there is a burning sensation found in the heart.
Apart from the burning sensation there are various other symptoms like nausea, chest pain, vomiting, and many others which depend mostly on the severity in a person. There are special investigations done to find out what exactly is the level of the damage caused by the increased acid and obviously depending on this the treatment is done. Medication and proper care can definitely reduce the severity to a great extent and make you feel better.
